<p>For those unfamiliar, Support Coordination is an essential service designed to assist NDIS participants in making the most of their NDIS plans. The role of a Support Coordinator is to help participants understand their funding, connect with appropriate service providers, and ultimately build their capacity to manage their plans independently. This involves everything from organizing therapies, linking participants to social and community services, to helping them access specialized care.</p>



<p>At Nourish &amp; Nurture Bass Coast, we recognize that every participant is unique, with distinct goals and challenges. That’s why we’re committed to offering individualized, person-centered support, ensuring each participant gets the right services at the right time.</p>

<p>Providing Support Coordination has been an incredibly rewarding experience for our team. <p>While the rewards are plentiful, providing Support Coordination in a regional area like Bass Coast does come with its challenges—one of the most significant being access to specialized wellbeing service providers. Participants in metropolitan areas often have a larger pool of professionals to choose from, whether they’re looking for speech therapists, psychologists, or occupational therapists. But in rural and regional areas, finding these experts can be more difficult.</p>



<p>There are fewer specialist service providers, and those who do operate in the area may have longer waiting lists. This makes our role as Support Coordinators all the more important. It’s our job to leverage our local knowledge, build strong partnerships with service providers, and think outside the box to find creative solutions. Sometimes this means coordinating telehealth services or connecting participants with providers who may travel to the region.</p>
